Katie, a crew of videographers, and photographers take a trip each year to places where animals are being displaced from their domains. Many creatures appear on the endangered list. The team of photographers and videographers take photographs and video footage to document the destruction certain ecosystems. The team then donates their work to help raise funds for area Zoo's or animal reserves that rescue and help repopulate endangered species. Most of the local animal shelters have the support of the community for the adoption pets. They have access to funds that many reserves and Zoos do not have. For that reason, their work is focused on wild life preserves and Zoos rather than local animal shelters.

Last year, Katie and her team visited Los Angeles and Hollywood California. They use photojournalism and videography to document the destruction of important regional habitats. While there, they observed the safe capture and placement of two endangered, wounded animals which was very gratifying.

Katie and Dawna also got to try out for the Wheel of Fortune. They were chosen to advance to the next phase and were able to attend a live taping of the show. They did win an undisclosed amount that covered their cost of travel to the region but did not get selected to appear on the show. Katie and her team were able to enjoy sites in the surrounding areas. Fun was had by all and their contribution to an animal reserve will hopefully generate income that will continue to house and repopulate animals on the endangered list.
